Compass Knowledge Group and University of Florida Extend Successful Alliance
Intelicus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Compass Knowledge Group, Inc., satisfies The University of Florida (“UF”) College of Pharmacy goals.
Orlando, FL April 2003 - Compass Knowledge Group, Inc. (“CKNO” or sometimes “Compass”), a premier provider of e-learning solutions and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, ranked as one of the top 10 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, will continue their successful partner relationship with the Working Professional Doctor of Pharmacy Program until 2011.
The University of Florida recognized that traditional methods to assist working pharmacists in furthering their education did not accommodate their harried schedules. A blended distance learning model needed to be designed to complement UF’s exceptional deliverance of quality education. In 1996, the University of Florida and Compass Knowledge Group partnered to launch the distance learning Working Professional Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Compass was able to customize their end-to-end services to support UF’s distance learning initiatives. Working hand-in-hand to assure that UF achieved its goals and received the best in educational support, Compass provided thorough marketing and recruitment to grow enrollment, comprehensive program management to assist administrative needs, and unprecedented levels of student support to impact and achieve high retention and completion rates.
“Our partner relationship with Compass began in 1996 with the launch of the Working Professional Doctor of Pharmacy Program, recruiting strong applicants that allowed us to admit 83 students. Their marketing, recruitment and services provided to our distance education students in addition to the quality assurance they provide has, for the past several years, allowed our program to reach a steady enrollment of over 500 students with a graduation rate of over 150 students a year. As a demonstration of our complete satisfaction, we have extended our agreement through 2011,” stated William H. Riffee, Ph.D., Associate Provost, Dean, College of Pharmacy for the University of Florida.
Compass’ e-learning marketing, recruitment, instructional design and retention professionals bring a unique and broad experience to support colleges and universities in the distance learning arena. Compass is committed to stay in front of emerging developments and give the extra edge to distance learning that brings higher education and the working professional together. While most working professional Pharm.D. programs just bridge the degree gap, the advanced content of the University of Florida program complements a pharmacist’s practice experience for a higher level of competence and autonomy.
