Florida Hospital College Launches Distance Learning RN-BS Nursing Program

ORLANDO, FL – February, 2004 – Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences (FHCHS), part of the nationally-renowned Seventh-day Adventist Health System, recently introduced their newest distance learning offering, the RN-BS Nursing program. The new distance learning format for this popular degree program allows the working nurse a greater opportunity to pursue career advancement.

Though the RN-BS Nursing program has remained a fundamental element of FHCHS’ on-campus degree offerings since its addition to the school’s nursing curriculum in 1998, the new distance learning option is able to accommodate the hectic schedules of working students. The program will assist working nurses to reach their educational goals without traveling to campus and with the flexibility to accommodate their own schedules.

“Our RN-BS Nursing program adds more crucially-needed higher level nurses,” said Nancy Haugen, professor and chair of the FHCHS Department of Nursing. “This distance learning program will allow nurses who may not have been previously able to earn their BS to now do so.”
