Founded in 1831, the University of New England has two campuses in Biddeford and Portland, Maine. They began their online learning initiative with Compass in 2007 by creating Masters of Science in Education online offerings for K-12 teachers and recently, they launched the nation’s first fully online national Master of Social Work, with both traditional and advanced BSW to MSW tracks using local community preceptors. All are enormously popular. In a very short time, the University of New England now has more than 700 online students and a term over term retention rate of 98%.
